 FAQs: Cube Calculator, CBM & Volume Conversion

What is a Cube Calculator?

A Cube Calculator helps you work out the volume of your package or shipment. It’s often used in logistics to calculate how much space your goods will take up in cubic feet or cubic metres.

What is a CBM Calculator?

A CBM Calculator measures the volume of cargo in cubic metres (CBM). It’s essential for air and sea freight.

Formula:
CBM = (Length × Width × Height) × Quantity

Example:
A standard UK pallet is typically 1.2m × 1.0m × 1.0m.

For 2 pallets:
CBM = (1.2 × 1.0 × 1.0) × 2
CBM = 1.2 × 2 = 2.4 m³

So the total volume of 2 UK pallets is 2.4 CBM.

What is a Cubic Feet Calculator?

A Cubic Feet Calculator is a tool used to work out the volume of a package in cubic feet (ft³). It’s commonly used in UK and US freight to estimate how much space your goods will take up.

Formula:
Cubic feet = (Length × Width × Height) ÷ 1728
(Use inches for all measurements.)

Example:
A box that’s 24″ × 18″ × 12″:

(24 × 18 × 12) ÷ 1728 = 3 ft³

Is CBM the same as a Cubic Meter Calculator?

Yes, CBM stands for Cubic Metres. Both tools use the same formula to calculate volume. The only difference is that a CBM Calculator usually includes the number of items, making it ideal for freight. A Cubic Meter Calculator typically refers to calculating the volume of just one item.

Is this Tool the Same as a Freight Volume Calculator?

Yes. Our Cube Calculator works as a freight volume calculator, helping you convert package dimensions into volume in both CBM and cubic feet, using either cm, inches, metres, or feet. It’s perfect for planning road, sea, or air freight.
