Customs Requirement Changes Post-Brexit
Post-Brexit freight goods exported to Finland from the UK must be declared to Customs, as the UK is no longer in the EU or part of the European Single Trading Market. Therefore, businesses that export to Finland are restricted and have customs obligations the same as any other international “third country” nation.

Post-Brexit exports to European countries are liable for more duties unless the cargo is covered by EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement, which means there is tariff-free trade available for certain goods. To qualify, the exporter makes a sanctioned statement to say the goods were produced in the UK. To check if your goods are eligible, speak to your customs agent or freight forwarder, who will be able to fill you in on the latest. There are also reciprocal agreements for VATand payable duties are determined by what you’re sending, so always take advice to see what your consignment may be liable for.
