What is groupage?
Groupage is the consolidation of multiple compatible shipments to fill a truck with cargo for transport via road freight or sea freight to offshore islands such as Mallorca, Ibiza, Jersey, and Guernsey in a shipping container. This collating shipment provides a more economical method of freighting goods.
Does groupage freight take a long time?
Barrington Freight ships groupage daily, providing a speedy, cost-effective delivery option throughout Europe and can be either express (times vary depending on exact destination) or economy.
We don’t have a forklift or access to a large truck – can you help?
Many of our smaller vehicles have tail lifts for lifting and lowering goods. Simply advise us of this requirement when you book your collection.
Are my goods more likely to get damaged via groupage?
We are proud of our low insurance claim record, and many of our international vehicles are double-decked, so most pallets are not double stacked.
Can I track my shipment when it ships as groupage?
Every consignment is tracked by our operations centre so we can advise our clients about the shipment location at any point. We can also provide details of our delivery agents on request to liaise directly with them.
