Originally, a dedicated truck was scheduled to collect goods from a single supplier near Munich. However, a last-minute readiness of a second shipment from a supplier near Duisburg presented a logistical challenge. Running two separate shipments would significantly increase costs.

Solution

Barrington Freight proposed an optimised transport plan:

• Collect the initial shipment from Supplier A near Munich.
• Shipment to be collected 17/02/2025.
• Travel 600km north to Supplier B near Duisburg to pick up additional goods.
• Consolidate both shipments into a single transport to the UK.

By optimising the process of shipping car parts from Europe, this strategy reduced freight costs and improved efficiency while ensuring timely delivery.

Outcome

• Cost Savings: By consolidating shipments, the client avoided the cost of a second dedicated truck.
• Time Efficiency: The entire process, from request to delivery, was completed within four days. The shipment was delivered on 19/02/2025 in the UK.
• Seamless Customs Compliance: Both suppliers had already raised Export EAD documents, and two separate import customs entries were processed efficiently upon arrival in the UK.
